We implemented a KNX-based lighting control system for the office facility of Middle World Property Management & General Maintenance LLC in Abu Dhabi.
The solution was designed to provide efficient and flexible lighting management across office spaces and public restrooms. The system allows both automated and manual lighting control using multiple control methods.
The project also included BMS integration, centralized visualization, and NetX automation software, enabling facility managers to monitor and manage the lighting system more efficiently.

Based on the project requirements, we implemented a KNX lighting control system using Theben KNX devices.
KNX technology was selected because it provides a reliable and scalable platform for building lighting automation. The system integrates sensors, keypads, touch panels, and outdoor light sensors to provide flexible lighting control.
The solution was also integrated with NetX automation software and the Building Management System, allowing centralized monitoring, control, and visualization of the lighting system.
The lighting system uses motion and occupancy sensors to automate lighting based on activity within office spaces and public restrooms. Lights turn on when the area is occupied and switch off when not in use, helping reduce unnecessary energy consumption while maintaining proper lighting conditions.
In addition to automation, the lighting system allows manual control using wall-mounted keypads and touch panels. Staff can easily adjust lighting when required, providing flexibility between automated operation and manual control.
Outdoor light sensors allow the lighting system to respond to natural daylight conditions. By adjusting lighting based on external light levels, the system helps maintain comfortable lighting environments while supporting energy-efficient building lighting management.
The lighting control system is integrated with the Building Management System (BMS), allowing facility teams to monitor and manage lighting alongside other building systems. This integration improves building-level control and simplifies facility management.
The system includes NetX automation software, which provides centralized visualization and monitoring of the lighting control system. Facility managers can view system status, manage lighting operations, and monitor performance through a single control interface.
